08.11.2007 - Klaus, Brown discuss Czech EU presidency
Klaus said they had discussed the questions of what could be done within the six months when Prague would hold the EU presidency and where cooperation was possible.
"We had a very friendly conversation," Klaus said.
"Naturally, we continued with the discussions we had with Brown in the past when he was the finance minister on the issues of European deregulation and joint currency in Europe," Klaus said.
Klaus said his conversation had touched upon military and defence cooperation especially in connection with the Czech and British presence in Afghanistan.
Britain has a strong military contingent there as it considers the country one of the key focuses of struggle against global terrorism.
Klaus said they had also discussed the European reform treaty, British Queen to receive Czech President Klaus ...

Madeleine police chief removed ... but only marginally as the treaty already existed and the Czech and British government had agreed with it.
