The pension of Russians living in the Czech Republic is calculated from the applicant's current income. According to the Czech foreigner police data, a total of 22,093 Russians live in the Czech Republic, while 10,443 of them have a permanent residence permit. According to the Labour and Social Affairs Ministry, some 1,000 Russians who live in the Czech Republic permanently are over 60, and they probably receive Czech pensions.
Another 1,000 Russians in the country are over 50. After the treaty's annulment, only those people who had paid social insurance in the Czech Republic for at least 15 years would be entitled to Czech pensions. The Czech Republic tried to change the treaty several times in the past, but in vain, Necas recalled.
