The Queen will tour a specialist Aids clinic and children's hospital on her official state visit to Uganda.
She and the Duke of Edinburgh will meet staff and patients, and unveil a plaque for the hospital's new Elizabeth Wing.
Later the Queen will address the Ugandan parliament and attend a state banquet at the president's residence.
The Queen is in the east African country ahead of the Commonwealth heads of government meeting which she will preside over from Friday.
The conference, which is held every two years, is expected to be dominated by the state of emergency in Pakistan.

It will be the first time Prince Charles has been to a gathering of Commonwealth leaders held abroad.
The Queen flew into Entebbe airport accompanied by Prince Philip days after they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
