Bush aide says warming man-made ... Day. The upper house's proposals were opposed by deputies from the government coalition as well as opposition today. In a stormy debate some of them made ironical remarks on the Senate's efforts and personal lash-outs at the Senate bill's author, Martin Mejstrik (Path of Change). The government had taken a lukewarm position on the bill previously. It recommended that the deputies consider whether the current law should be changed now that no serious social or economic reasons require it. The Senate first proposed the abolition of IWD one year ago, along with the introduction of Good Friday as new national holiday. The Chamber of Deputies rejected it in February.
