Outcome of Czech presidential elections determined-press ... necessary 101 votes. Ninety-seven of them voted no confidence in the government while 101 deputies - all government coalition deputies present and former Social Democrats Milos Melcak and Michal Pohanka, voted against the motion. Petr Wolf (CSSD) who is ill and Labour and Social Affairs Minister Petr Necas (ODS) who excused himself from the session did not take part in the vote. This has been the opposition's second failed attempt to topple the current centre-right government of the ODS, Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) and Greens since it was inaugurated in January. The opposition made the first attempt in June. Left-wing deputies sharply criticised the government before the vote was taken.
They said the government does not manage its role and that it is untrustworthy irrespective of what the result of the vote may be.
