"We suppose there will be a nomination conference in the Senate constituency," Paroubek said, adding that he believed Dienstbier was an excellent candidate and hoped he would win.
Paroubek did not say clearly whether Dienstbier has accepted the offer.
The Social Democrats also approved the nominations of leaders of lists of candidates to the regional elections scheduled, as those to the Senate, for the end of October and beginning of November.
