Such equipment exists only at another two places in the world - in Belgium and in Arizona, United States. The inauguration was attended by President Vaclav Klaus and Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek. Klaus pointed out that the hospital does not only serve the armed forces, but also the public. The reconstruction cost 750 million crowns, 300 million crowns of which were spent on the multi-purpose operating theatre. The UVN that was opened in 1938 has been completely reconstructed over the past ten years. The hospital was granted an international quality accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for the second time last November.
