US actress Rosanna Arquette has accepted damages from a British newspaper after it printed claims that she had battled drug problems.
The Desperately Seeking Susan star complained after the News of the World published the story in November.
"This upsetting and untrue allegation has caused me a lot of distress," the 48-year-old performer said.
The paper retracted the story, saying: "We are happy to clarify the situation and apologise to Ms Arquette."

The star is donating the undisclosed damages to The Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
"I felt it was something I had to take action about and I feel so much better now that the true position has been made clear," she said.
