They are being treated in the Teaching Hospital in Brno. Nesvadbova said that their lives are not directly threatened any more. "Their condition can be considered stabilised...Nevertheless, the injuries are very serious and they keep staying in our hospital," Nesvadbova added. Thousands of people were locked in tailbacks along the motorway after the mass accident on the D1 motorway during a snow storm last Thursday. The first cars crashed around 9:30, shortly afterwards the motorway was closed between the 91st and 134th kilometre. It became fully passable at 2:30 last Friday. According to police, the total damage incurred may amount to tens of millions of crowns.
