Nepal has said it will use military force if necessary to prevent Tibetan protesters from disrupting the Olympic torch relay on Mount Everest.

Reports Say Germany and China to Mend Strained Relations ... Dozens of troops have been deployed to Mount Everest ahead of the planned relay. Beijing has not given any date for the torch run to the 8,850 metre peak but Nepali officials say it is expected between May 1 and 10. Exiled Tibetans have been regularly protesting in Kathmandu since last month against the Chinese crackdown on pro-independence protests in the Himalayan region last month. Meanwhile there have been fresh anti-Western protests in China.
