UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has met with Zimbabwe's opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai to discuss the deadlock in last month's presidential election.
At the meeting in Accra, Ghana, Tsvangirai called on the UN and the African Union to intervene to prevent President Robert Mugabe from possibly manipulating the results. A spokeswoman for Ban said the secretary-general was concerned over the situation. More than three weeks after the presidential poll, official results have still not been released.
