The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says it has halted the distribution of food to the Gaza Strip because it does not have enough fuel.
UN Relief Agency head, John Ging, said without diesel fuel, the agency's trucks could no longer deliver food to 650,000 refugees in Gaza. The UN Security Council met to discuss the crisis, but Western envoys walked out when the Libyan ambassador compared the situation in Gaza to Nazi concentration camps. Israel has said the fuel blockade is necessary to put pressure on the Hamas-run government in Gaza to halt near-daily rocket attacks on Israeli communities.
