Philipp von Boeselager, the last survivor of a failed 1944 plot to assassinate Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, has died aged 90 years.
The German Army officer said he obtained the explosives for the other plotters that were detonated under a table at Hitler's Wolf's Lair headquarters in present-day Poland on July 20, 1944. The blast only injured Hitler. Claus von Stauffenberg, another of the officers who loathed the Nazis, was executed. Boeselager said he was never caught because none of the captured conspirators had revealed his name under torture.
