Israel is not trying to expand or build new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.
This is according to Israel's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Livni's statement followed comments by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who had earlier described the continued construction of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank as "particularly problematic".
