The Iraqi government and radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have reached an agreement to end several weeks of fighting that is believed to have killed several hundred people in Baghdad's Sadr City district.
Under the deal, which is expected to come into effect on Sunday, Sadr's Mehdi Army militia is to lay down its arms, remove snipers, and bombs from roads leading into Sadr City.
