Lebanon's military has said it will use force as of Tuesday to stop gun battles between pro- and anti-government forces.
The army has so far remained neutral in the fighting which has mainly taken place between Sunni Muslim supporters of the government and opposition Hezbollah militia. Overall, 81 people have been killed and around 250 wounded after five days of clashes which have left much of Beirut and its surroundings under the control of Hezbollah.
