Czechs critical of work of their MEPs-poll ... cities, Pravo says. The Czech government and Washington have negotiated on the radar, which the USA wants to be part of its missile defence shield, for more than a year now. Last week Czech Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Vondra said he expects the two treaties concerning the project to be signed in June or mid-July at the latest.
To take effect, they must be approved by Czech parliament. Public opinion polls show that a majority of Czechs are against the radar, as is the left-wing opposition and even certain deputies for the centre-right governing coalition. The government has 100 deputies in the 200-seat lower house.
