Gaza's Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar says an Israeli soldier, captured by the milititant group two years ago, will not be included in any truce deal with Israel.
The announcement comes a day after Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman travelled to the Jewish state for a meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to mediate an Israeli-Hamas cease-fire. Israel had demanded that the release of the soldier be included in a truce deal. Hamas in turn is demanding that Israel lift its blockade of Gaza as part of any agreement.
