A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has rocked southern Greece, collapsing buildings and causing panic among villagers in the Peloponnese region.
The tremor struck near the city of Patras and was felt as far away as the capital Athens.
Police reported several minor injuries from the quake, which had an epicentre 200 kilometres (124 miles) west of Athens, Greek authorities said.
Greece is one of Europe's most earthquake-prone countries.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.1.
Experts have warned that aftershocks are likely as the quake's epicentre was close to the ground's surface.
