The US military says a suicide car bomb has exploded near an American patrol base in northern Iraq, killing one soldier and wounding 20 other people.
A brief statement from the military said 18 of the wounded are American soldiers and two are Iraqi contractors working at the base in Tamim province. In a separate incident, the US military said a blast just outside Baghdad's Green Zone on Sunday killed three civilians and wounded 10 others.
