Saudi Arabia has called for crisis talks with consumer nations on soaring world prices, following concern about the impact of high energy costs on the global economy.
At a meeting of Saudi ministers, chaired by King Abdullah, Oil minister Ali al-Nuaimi said the recent surge in price that saw New York's benchmark hit a record 138 dollars was unjustified.
