United States President George W.
Bush is in Slovenia for an annual US-European Union summit. He's expected to call on European leaders to increase the pressure on Iran over its nuclear programme. The US leader would also like European banks to do more to freeze the flow of money through Iranian banks, which he believes helps fund Tehran's atomic research. On what is scheduled to be his last trip to Europe before his second presidential term ends early next year, Bush meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel north of Berlin later on Tuesday. He also is scheduled to visit Italy, France, the Vatican and Britain during his week-long trip.
