Tibetan children in Nepal protest ... is set to leave his palace in Kathmandu following the abolition of the monarchy by the country's new consitutional assembly last month.
Gyanendra is expected to move to a former hunting lodge on the outskirts of the city, and his palace is to become a museum. Nepal's nearly 250-year-old monarchy was abolished on May 28 by the constitutional assembly, which was set up following a peace deal between Maoist insurgents and mainstream political parties. Gyanendra ascended the throne in 2001 after a palace massacre in which the then crown prince killed most of the family and then himself.
