German Chancellor Angela Merkel and United States President George W.
Bush have resumed talks during his short visit to Germany. The main focus of their meeting at Merkel's Meseburg guest residence near Berlin is expected to be Iran's nuclear programme. At a US-European Union summit in Slovenia on Tuesday, Bush said the US and Europe would add new measures to current United Nations sanctions if Iran does not abandon its atomic programme. Other topics that may be addressed include the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as climate protection. Bush travels on to Rome after the talks have ended.
