China's foreign minister Yang Jiechi has said that relations with Germany are back to normal, following a spat over Beijing's policies in Tibet.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is in Beijing for a three-day visit. In a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart, Steinmeier said the two countries could now focus on issues such as conflict prevention in Africa and climate change. It's the first trip to China by the foreign minister since a row sparked last year by a meeting between Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. Steinmeier is expected to meet Premier Wen Jiabao later on Friday.
