A major jailbreak has reportedly occurred in Afhganistan.
Local officials said Taleban insurgents launched an attack on the main prison in the southern city of Kandahar. They reportedly blew up the prison gates, causing an unknown number of casualties. There are unconfirmed reports that more than 1,000 prisoners, including 400 Taleban, have managed to flee as a result of the blast. Officials with NATO's International Security Assistance Force said they were aware of the attack but did not have any details yet.
