In Japan, a powerful earthquake has killed at least three people and injured around 100 others.
The quake, measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale, shook the country's northern provinces of Iwate, Miyagi and Akita on Saturday morning, triggering landslides and causing a number of buildings to collapse. The tremor also caused a leak of radioactive water at a nuclear power plant. The plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company, said the leak was small and did not pose a threat. The company added that its two reactors at the site were continuing to function normally.
