The Incredible Hulk has powered its way to the top spot of the US box office chart, early figures show.
The green superhero remake took $54.5m (£27.9m) on its opening weekend pushing last week's number one Kung Fu Panda - $34.3m (£17.6m) - into second.
The weekend's other new entry, The Happening - directed by M Night Shyamalan - was in third spot taking $30.5m (£15.6m).

Adam Sandler's comedy, which opened in second place last week, took $16.4m (£8.4m).
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fell two places to fifth spot with $13.5m (£6.9m).
Sex and the City, meanwhile, fell out of the top five in its third weekend, taking $10.2m (£5.2m) and sixth place.
Paul Dergarabedian, of box office tracker Media By Numbers, said year-on-year box office sales had been up for three weeks running.
The last Incredible Hulk remake - Hulk, directed by Ang Lee - performed better than the new version on its opening weekend in 2003, taking $62m ($31.7m).
The new Marvel Studios remake is directed by Louis Leterrier, who made the Transporter films.
