US government auditors have sided with aircraft manufacturer Boeing in its challenge against European rival EADS for a lucrative US military contract.
The Government Accountability Office recommended, in a non-binding decision, that the US Air Force reopen discussions with bidders for a contract for aerial refuelling craft. It was won by a partnership between Northrop Grumman and its partner EADS, the company behind the giant Airbus A380. The contract is for the first of three deliveries worth over a total of 100 billion dollars.
