European Union leaders at their summit in Brussels look set to postpone a decision on the future of the bloc's troubled Lisbon Treaty until their next summit in October.
That's according to a draft statement obtained by news agencies. Last week in a referendum Irish voters rejected the draft treaty, which, to take effect, requires ratification by all 27 EU nations. In the statement, leaders note that while 19 EU members have ratified the treaty they need "more time" to analyse the situation. German postal service hit by warning strikes ... has said he plans to visit Ireland in July in search of an answer. The draft treaty aims to streamline the way the bloc operates and replaces a draft charter rejected by French and Dutch voters in 2005.
