A spokesman for his Movement for Democratic Change party told reporters that a decision would be taken on Monday. A number of African countries, as well as Britain and the United States have said the vote will not be fair due to violence against opposition supporters. This led European leaders meeting in Brussels to threaten President Robert Mugabe's regime with fresh sanctions. Mugabe's Zanu-PF party has blamed the MDC for the bloodshed, however United Nations officials say the president's supporters have been responsible for most of the violence.
