Around one-third of the respondents expected negative impacts of the euro in early June, while around one-fifth of people had positive expectations. Slovaks fear more that euro will have a negative impact on the finances of their families as some 47 percent of the respondents expect a worse situation compared with the present. Only eight percent expect an improvement, while 37 percent do not expect any changes. Slovakia should adopt the euro as of January 1, 2009.
