The European Union has agreed to impose a new round of sanctions against Iran over Tehran's controversial nuclear activities.
At a meeting in Luxembourg, the 27 member states said the new measures were in response to Iran's refusal to meet international demands to curb its uranium enrichment programme. Diplomats said the sanctions would ban Iran's largest commercial bank, Bank Melli, from operating in Europe and include a freeze of the bank's assets and funds.
