Brown and Mbeki focus on Mugabe ... Dutch foreign ministry has confirmed that Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has sought refuge in the Dutch embassy in Harare.
Tsvangirai entered the Dutch embassy shortly after armed police raided the headquarters of his party, the Movement for Democratic Change. On Sunday, Tsvangirai said he would not take part in Friday's presidential run-off against President Robert Mugabe whose ZANU-PF supporters have been conducting a campaign of intimidation ahead of the poll. EU officials have said the election process in Zimbabwe was no longer valid. South African President, Thabo Mbeki, has called for a diplomatic solution to the crisis. Germany's development minister, Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul has accused African nations of acting too late and too indecisively to events in Zimbabwe.
