Militants in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip have fired at least two rockets into southern Israel.
The Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility. The rockets are the first to be fired from the Palestinian territory since a truce between Israel and Hamas went into effect last Thursday. Carter meets former Hamas cabinet minister ... Bank city of Nablus. The Egyptian-brokered truce calls on Hamas to prevent attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip, which it seized by force a year ago. In exchange, Israel agreed to halt attacks in the Gaza Strip and ease its economic blockade of the enclave. The truce did not apply to the West Bank.
