Voters in Zimbabwe are going to the polls in the second round of the country's presidential election.
The incumbent, 84-year-old Robert Mugabe, is virtually certain to win, after opposition candidate Morgan Tsvangirai announced that he was withdrawing from the race. Tsvangirai, who won the March 29 first round, pulled out due to what he says is a government campaign of violence against supporters of his Movement for Democratic Change. The second round of the election is being held despite international calls for it to be postponed. Zimbabwe opposition challenges vote recount ... said that holding the run-off vote will undermine the legitimacy of the outcome. Meanwhile, the MDC's secretary general, Tendai Biti, has been released from prison after being granted bail. He was arrested two weeks ago on charges of vote-rigging and treason and could face the death penalty.
