US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has called on North Korea to give up all of its nuclear weapons.
Rice said Pyongyang had not provided Washington with the answers to all of its questions about North Korea's nuclear activities. She was referring to a declaration issued to the international community through China on Thursday. Rice was speaking at a news conference in Seoul, where she was to discuss Pyongyang's nuclear programme with her South Korean counterpart, Yu Myung-hwan. N Korea hits out at South leader ... Friday, North Korea destroyed the cooling tower of its Yongbyon nuclear reactor in a controlled explosion. This was seen as a symbol of the country's commitment to disarmament. The reactor produced the plutonium for Pyongyang's weapons programme, which culminated in a nuclear test in October 2006.
