Israel has reopened some of its border crossings with the Gaza Strip.
A government spokesman said the move came because there had been a halt to Palestinian cross-border attacks, which have strained an Egyptian-brokered truce. He said the crossings had resumed operations with some restrictions. Israel closed the crossings on Wednesday after an Islamic Jihad rocket attack, which the Palestinian militant group said had come in revenge for the killing of one of its West Bank leaders. The truce, which came into effect 10 days ago, does not apply to the West Bank.
