US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has kicked off a two-day trip to China by visiting the western province of Sichuan.
That's the region that was hit by a major earthquake last month, which killed at least 70,000 people. China's official Xinhua news agency reported that Rice expressed her sympathy in the name of all US citizens to the victims. Beijing pollution 'not a danger' ... Chinese government turned to the international community for help. After returning to Beijing, Rice was to meet with her Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi, and other leaders. Their talks were expected to focus on a number of regional and international issues, including efforts to curb North Korea's nuclear weapons programme.
