Indian police say at least eight people have been killed and dozens injured in a bomb explosion at a crowded village market in northeastern Assam state close to the border with Bhutan.
Officials suspect the separatist United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to be behind the attack. The ULFA is among more than two dozen armed groups in the region, either fighting for an independent homeland or more political autonomy.
