Thousands of German soccer fans have given the national team a hero's welcome in front of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate.
The rally was a chance for the team to thank the fans for their support during the European Championship in Switzerland and Austria. This comes just hours after Germany were defeated 1-0 by Spain in the final played in Vienna. Fernando Torres was voted man of the match after scoring the game's only goal in the 33rd minute. This was Spain's first major tournament win in 44 years.
