Bush outlines climate policy principles ... spokesman of Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has dismissed calls for a Kenya-style unity government with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change.
George Charamba told reporters at an African Union summit in Egypt that the political impasse would be solved the Zimbabwean way without providing any further details. His remarks came amid mounting tension around Mugabe at the AU summit that opened on Monday - a day after he was sworn in as president for a further five years. Last week's presidential election has been condemned throughout the world as having been neither free nor fair. Mugabe was the sole candidate after opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai pulled out of the run-off because of violence against his supporters. Mugabe claims to have won the vote legitimately. Meanwhile, Italy has recalled its ambassador to Zimbabwe. Italy's Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, called on the rest of the European Union to follow suit.
