Germany's federal labour agency says the country's unemployment rate fell to 7.5% in June, or about 3.16 million people.
The drop exceeded economists' expectations and the number of people out of work is now at its lowest level in 16 years. Despite the positive trend, economists expect the German economy to slow next year, putting the breaks on hiring, due to rising inflation and a slump in consumer confidence.
