At least five people have been killed and more than 300 others injured in riots in the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator.
Amongst those killed was a Japanese journalist. Police have arrested hundreds of demonstrators during protests against alleged fraud in last weekend's general elections. Mongolian President Nambariin Enkhbayar has called a four-day state of emergency in response to the violence. Protestors reportedly set fire to the headquarters of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, which won the election.
