World Bank warns on water crisis ... the year 2020 was not set in stone. Instead, the ministers said greater efforts should be undertaken to develop hydrogen and electric-powered cars. By distancing themselves from biofuels, ministers hope to diffuse growing criticism that the EU's target is contributing to deforestation and forcing up food prices. A World Bank report has blamed biofuels for a 75 percent rise in the price of staple foods.
