Two retired generals have been arrested in Turkey during a police investigation into coup allegations.
Former head of the paramilitary gendarmerie Sener Eruygur and former first army commander Hursit Tolon have been sent to a prison in Istanbul for questioning. Turkish media said the two were suspected of being members of an ultra-nationalist, hardline secular group, known as Ergenekon. Twenty-one people, including a prominent businessman, were detained last week as part of the probe.
