Ethopian ruling party wins landslide in disputed polls ... new elections in September after the collapse of its governing coalition.
Both the Social Democrats under Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer and the conservative People's Party have said they will vote to dissolve parliament. This comes after the leader of the People's Party, Vice Chancellor Wilhelm Molterer, said the government was no longer capable of making joint decisions. The two parties formed a troubled coalition in January 2007. Chancellor Gusenbauer has said he will not stand in the elections, and that the head of his party, Transport Minister Werner Faymann, will take his place on the ballot.
