Nigerian gunmen have kidnapped two Germans in the country's oil-producing Niger Delta region.
A military spokesman confirmed the two were abducted near Port Harcourt, where they were working on a road upgrading project. The two men work for a Nigerian subsidiary of German construction firm, Bilfinger Berger, which employs more than 500 Germans in Nigeria. In March, a German from the same company was kidnapped and released after 12 hours. No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction. Kidnappings are common in the Niger Delta and abductees are frequently released without harm.
