The International Committee of the Red Cross says it has handed over the bodies of eight fighters to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah as part of a prisoner swap with Israel. At the start of the swap Hezbollah handed over two coffins to Israel, saying they contained the remains of two Israeli soldiers captured in a cross-border raid in 2006.
The abduction of the soldiers sparked Israel's invasion and bombing of Lebanon that lasted more than a month. Israel is conducting DNA tests to confirm the identities of the soldiers before handing over five Lebanese fighters in another phase of the exchange. Burma 'wants aid not foreigners' ... place at the Naqura border crossing between the two countries. In Lebanon, celebratory banners and flags are flying along the main highway from Naqura to the port city of Sidon and the cabinet has declared Wednesday a national holiday.
