It fell into the Pacific Ocean several hundred kilometres off the Mexican shore after a flight of more than 20 minutes. Parkanova was the first Czech politician to follow the test in the Integration and operations centre at Schriever base close to Colorado Springs. "The main goal of the test was fulfilled because all radars that were on functioned exactly as expected," Czech ambassador to NATO Stefan Fuelle said. The radar base the United States wants to build at the Brdy military district, some 90km southwest of Prague, is to be part of the U.S. anti-missile shield. The Czech Republic and United States signed a treaty on the base earlier this month. The treaty is yet to be ratified by Czech parliament. Support for it is not sure, however. A majority of the Czech inhabitants are opposed to the project.
